Joe, Et Al,
Back in the day, my first TX was an Ameco AC-1 and first receiver was a
Hallicrafters S-85. I upgraded to a National NC-300 RX and a Heathkit
DX-40 TX. First mobile was a SBE-33. I upgraded TX to a Gonset GSB-100.
Now I sport a FTDX-5000MP, IC-775-DSP, and, FT-1000D. Tower is an
HDX-555 with a 4-L SteppIr, OCFD, and a sloper, Changes this year will
be selling the FT-1000D and replacing with IC-7800. After 60 years, I
still love Ham Radio, especially CW. Enjoy while you can.
Semper Fi,

WAY BACK IN 1955 (NOVICE LICENSE - MY FIRST), MY 1ST TX WAS A WRL
GLOBE SCOUT 65A; RX WAS EITHER A NATIONAL NC-88 OR HALLICRAFTERS
SX-99. IT'S JUST TOO LONG AGO TO REMEMBER FOR SURE.....I LATER ON
HAD A DRAKE 4B-LINE THAT I GOT WHILE IN KH6 IN '70.- GREAT RIG, TOO.
LONG AFTER an SR-150, CE10A & 20A, SW-400. & SX-101 (MK III); ONE OF
MY EARLY RIGS TOO WAS AN HT-37; TERRIBLE TX - AS FAR AS I AM
CONCERNED!!! TODAY, I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY SDR (FLEX 6700)
