That's the problem with the entire Icom IC-275, 375, 475, 575, 1275 series
of monobander rigs.....great performance and all can be made into
"Competition Grade" rigs but Icom has never gotten it "right" for the CW and
USB positioning and offsets......this is terribly frustrating when contest
stations answer your CW CQ on USB.....should be a matter of simply pushing
the USB button to answer.......NOT SO !!

The lastest issue (I got it, in the mail, as a sample, on Wednesday) of
WorldRadio compares the two...it's a pretty informative article.
My only specific complaint about the '706MkIIG is that "normal" CW is
LSB! You've got to set the rig for "reverse" CW to be on the correct
sideband. I don't know if this is just a Japanese thing, or what, but it
sure is frustrating!
Otherwise the rig works well...
