There has been no official conversation or email discussion on changing the idea of elimination of the bands bove 1.2 Ghz from the June contest to the January contest. If there is, then I am not in the loop anymore.

In fact, the elimination of utilizing the bands above 1.2 Ghz was specifically NOT proposed to the MSC. It was observed by the VHF subcommittee chair and members that the input received on this recommendation was such that it needed further review.

If you want my personal opionion on this, take a guess. I operate up thru 24 ghz, and the equipment dont get used enough.

I suggest that everyone review the final memo to the reflectors from Tom - K1KI. It is dated somewhere around mid July of this year. It lays out all the info that everyone should base their comments on. It will be less confusing for all wondering what is really going on and should eliminate any "he said she said" types of comments going around the reflector.

If I hear anything "official", I will sure let anyone know what I hear. If you hear anything "official", please let me know, I sure dont want to be the last to know :)

As far as the comments being heard as one member's impressions, I have no idea as I was not there and this is the first I ever heard about this change.

Not sure I answered any of your questions to your satisfaction, please let me know.

It was at the NW microwave conference. We were told it was originally
proposed for the June contest, but moved to the January contest. I take it this was
the idea of the committees came to since last spring's input. I don't really
agree with it, but on the other hand my chances of making a real long qso is a
lot less in January on those bands.

I more interested in vucc changes as the no.1 factor, then fixing the rovers.

Being on the committee tell us what you know, perhaps that was one members impression of the changes and not the real thing.
