For the 222 MHz Fall Sprint W3SO, FN00, had 68 QSOs, 33 Grids for a claimed
score of 2244. The operator was W3BTX.

Soapbox: It was garden variety type of contest, no opening, but a steady
level of activity for the entire contest. W3SO worked four rovers, the best
rover DX was to FN42. We kinda took an informal poll during the contest to
see what others were running. Most were transverters, the most power was
250 watts. However, again W3BTX didn't survey all the QSOs and this wasn't
very scientific. It is a shame that more aren't on 222 MHZ since it is a
good band, often the copy is better on 222 MHz than on 2m. The Packrats 222
MHz beacon was loud last night. BTW W3SO is using an FT-736 with a Henry
amp and the output is 500w into a 22 el C3i at 103 feet. The station
details/history is at <www.qrz.com/w3so>.

CU in the 432 MHz Fall Sprints next Wednesday night.

For the Wopsononock Operators,
Ed, K3IXD
