Yeah, but when 6 is open you will be talking to yourself with just 2 and 432
since everyone will be on 6.  I wouldn't even consider operating in a VHF
contest without some 6 meter capability.  I vote 6, 2 and 432 as the
minimum.  Add 222 if you can.

I would go with 144 and 432.  144 has always been the "meat and potatoes" 
band for me, with 432 a close second.  I don't make too many random QSO's on
222 and in some contests 50 MHz is completely dead and my portable beam
isn't large enough to overcome that.
