I really liked the new 6-digit grid exchange format for the
144 MHz Spring Sprint. It adds just enough additional
challenge to the QSO making process. I found that for greater
than 90% of my QSO's the other operator did use the full
6-digit grid even though it wasn't absolutely mandatory. And
100% of the rovers that I worked used 6-digit grids. The few
stations that didn't seemed to be those who had just jumped
into the contest 'last minute' without realizing that there
was that subtle change to the exchange. From my perspective
the new 6-digit grid exchange seems like it was a big
success.

Also I noted a few Rookie participants as well. Hopefully the
VHF contesting bug has been planted in a few new operators
tonight.

On the downside I really did miss using the web based
real-time logging for this event. I had become accustomed to
it being my normal way to participate in a Sprint. I really
do hope that it returns soon.
