I concur with Zack that in the northern Illinois area and surrounding states
144.260 MHz is used as a uW liaison frequency.  I bring my 2 meter beam with
me when I rove during the ARRL UHF contest and make good use of it.

In this area we've used both 144.200 and 144.260.  If either frequency was 
busy we'd go up or down 10 kHz or so.
