Here is a report from Fn12nf.
Good to see that some of you had some fairly good conditions. Not very good
here. Did a lot of tuning to find someone to work and parked on .095.4 when
calling CQ on CW. I know that is a bit close to the calling freq. but after
sitting on .085 for 45 minutes and getting no contacts, had to move up. I agree
with Ron-WZ1V, How come no one wants to move away from .100 ? If you want FN12
in the June contest, first you will have to point your antenna this way and
second look for us far away form the callinf freq. on every band.
Only 3 stations in FN31, nobody else in the northeast. I supect the storm front
moving thru here from east to west had a lot to do with that. Missed a VE3 to
the W-NW when a local called me on top of us trying to make the contact. When I
called the local, he was gone, never did work him. Farthest west was EN90 and
farthest south was FM28 with a lot of empty grids in between. Heard WA2FGK
working 4's but could not hear the 4's.
I realize that this is my sprint setup, 22 elements and abt 60 watts out, but I
am at 1650 ft asl. Point you antenna's this way once in a while and move away
from the calling frequency. If the big guns want to park next to it, let 'em
and you weaker stations (including me) move 20+ away either side and you will
be suprised who and where you can work.
I have to say the best thing last night was working N2SLN in FN22 on CW. Lu is
one of our team members who did not do CW last year, but does now! Way to go
Lu..
