Do you have any horizontal yagi's up because that will greatly improve
your ability to make contacts as most people will be horizontal and
operation SSB/CW?  However, I am always encouraging newbies to work FM
if that's all they have, of course, which is not you.  While not
necessary a logging program helps, I like http://www.n3fjp.com/ but
there are others.  Read the rules, and don't worry about all the
"bitchin" going on here, we just have to complain about something.
