Go for it an become a rover. Don't worry about being competitive. It's about
having fun and making contacts and doing them from places that are as exciting
to you as to the ham on the other end of the QSO. The fun is in the chase and
the thanks you'll get from all whom you contact. You'll also get the thrill of
some distance if you're up high with a clear horizon, something most of us
