Hi Mark
From a home station perspective:

I have not noticed any significant degradation doing that here at 222 or 432.
If possible position the loop yagi so the loops are above the mast, i.e. with 
the clamp just at the top of the pipe…again on 1296 and 902 no 
pattern shift was noted here…
