Thank you Tim,.. and Don for your very kind offer,.

Tim,
Well... I won't be taking the 'trailertenna 7el LFA' but this 5el seems to
do ok and doesn't mind 800-kw input.. I've been using it from the shack
while it's been mounted on the truck the last couple of days.. I worked a
nice North-South Es opening today with it. Hoping it does as well on the
hill as it does parked next to my shop. Back-up antennas are a small 3el
and a Par-Moxon. Back up radio is FT-100 and 150w brick.

The KW is via a Larcan SSPA powered by a Genstar 9kw diesel generator
(Blade PS needs 3kw). Being that it's diesel it's pretty quiet compared to
a gas/sparkplug setup. It just stays in the back of the truck, too heavy to
move about. choked the 240v line with 4, 1/2", mix 61 ferrite clamps.

Don,
Thank you for a very generous offer but I'm not comfortable taking
equipment that I'm not intimately familiar with (and isn't mine!) on the
hill.
I still haven't made the decision to bring 144mhz along. I may go back at
some point and do this trip all over again later in the season but it's a
one man show this time around and I'm trying to 'KISS'.

Been thinking at minimum I'll toss on a squalo and bring a 160w brick amp
for a couple morning scatter tries on .174 and for SSB talk-in back to
home.

I'll update the trip plans as needed. Thanks again all for the support. 73,
.-James K7KQA DN06
