I had a good time playing with the sprint yesterday!
I turned the rig on a few minutes after 7:00 and scanned the band up and down
on SSB. I did hear a couple of stations on 144.200 that seemed to be chatting
somewhere to the south, but they were right at my noise so I could never copy
enough to make a call. Not surprising for southern Indiana and my modest
station. I couldn't swing buying a bigger amp this year, maybe next year...
So, I tuned down to .174 and tried FT8. I quickly worked half a dozen station.
I went on to work 10 stations in 6 grids in about 2 hours of operating time.
Heard a few more stations in the EM84, EM85, EM86, area, but couldn't get their
attention. Doesn't sound like much, but it's probably a record sprint for me!
