At first glance I don't see any issues with this (other than the possible
burden this would place on the contest organizers.) I agree about the lack of
contest activity on 6M FM. I am quite confident I have made more 1296 FM
contacts while contesting than 50 MHz FM contacts.
While I doubt I would ever compete in that category I would be happy to make
more FM contacts on 50 thru 1296 MHz.
All that being said I do think one needs to consider the burden on the contest
organizers (and I have no idea what extra bandwidth if any they have.)
