Is there anyone who is, or is there anyone who's tried and failed
definitively, using a PCMCIA serial port for either/both rig control
or/and PTT/FSK/CW? There's a single and a dual made by Socket,
apparently, that looks pretty good.
I think I've gathered that a USB serial port adapter can't be used for
FSK, but it could be used for rig control and PTT. Is this correct?
Both of these would be possible ways to get more serial ports on a
laptop or smaller computer.
