Trying to answer a question for someone else - Just now playing around
with how the serial numbers work in 2R configuration.

Let's say I'm CQing in the ANARTS and am answered by W9ABC, I hit the
INS key and send my exchange, including S/N 100. Immediately after
that, I switch to the second radio's window and hit my F5 which sends my
exchange to K9XYZ - ALSO S/N 100. Not only does S/N 100 get sent to
BOTH stations, but they are logged this way as well. The HELP file
implies that the numbers are handled differently than this, e.g. WL is
smart enough to know that if you're giving #100 to ABC, that you want to
give #101 to XYZ.

There must be a way to "reserve" serial numbers so that WL would send
#101 to the second station...?? How do you "fast rate 2R guys" that
intermingle QSOs handle this? It's never been a problem for me I
guess - Either usually so slow that I log one before I get another one
going, OR the contest didn't require S/N in the exchange.

Potential customer asking me about this... Thanks!
