Hi - You covered a lot of ground, but here's a quick fix to ONE of your
concerns. You use "%E" to terminate transmission and go back to Rx.
It's in the HELP file. All my buffers start with %R%D and end with
%R%E.

I cannot remember the answer for the PK-232, but someone else will
because it's been discussed on the reflector a lot.

Tuning indicator - Once you get the PK-232 going, it has it's own tuning
indicator AND scope outputs for a scope. I think there's a couple of
ways you can get a 2nd tuning aid:

1. I have a scope connected to the PK-232 (the only reason I keep the
PK-232!). I put the PK-232 in Baudot mode with ANY software, eg XPWIN,
then exit that program, and the PK232 will stay in Baudot unless some
software changes it. Then you can use your P38 in Writelog and the
PK-232 will still be active and useable as a tuning indicator with it's
LEDs or a scope. Of course, you need to parallel your audio to it AND
the P38.

2. Even if you don't have 2 radios, you can set Writelog up as if you
DID have 2R. Tell WL #1 is the P38 and #2 is one of the soundcard
options. Ask for a Rttyrite view for the second radio and you should
get the soundcard tuning aid and can keep that on the screen.

I have a similar problem with the DXP-38... The on-screen DXP-38 tuning
indicator seems useless to me, and the DXP's own tuning indicator is
just too slow (delta-f mode), although accurate, for contesting. You
can't beat a scope, but the soundcard tuning indicator is helpful too.
Good luck! 73
