Lots of Europeans like to use cut numbers, I like to work lots of Europeans.
You won't hear
me complain about them. I knew TR converts them when you type them in, neat
that Writelog does as well.
I convert in my head and type the right thing most of the time. I like
the T for the leading 0, get a bit bored when sending 1000 series with full
0. When a snappy European is in line to get 1009 or something like that, I
reach over and use the paddle to send some cut numbers and save a few
seconds. A US guy would get the full number as would anyone I wasn't pretty
sure would appreciate the cut number. W2UP would get full numbers, but at
80 wpm.
It is a nice option to be able to send cut numbers; I never select it in
TRlog, but if you want to penetrate the Euro market deeply, it could be a
desirable feature.
My WPX CW effort is now burnt to CD ROM, full audio and all..slick.
