Gentlemen,
I managed to make a few q's in the current wpx rtty contest using fsk on my
Icom 765. I noticed that when I tune the calling station for good print, my
tones are a little higher, and several times, I've had to call repeatedly
when working someone. How much higher? If the tuning window is 500 hz wide,
then my transmitted tones are about 100 hz higher. I tried calling cq, and
when getting a response, I had to tune down to print anything intelligible.
I do not have afc turned on or checked, so I don't think that is the problem.
Not using rit or xit either. I don't know if my tones are reversed. Is
there any easy way to check without dismantling the rig. I did go to
keyboard mode and type a letter t and it sounds like its a high tone followed
by a low one. Any ideas?
Thanks
Geary
