There seems to be some interest in the USB to com port converters, I have
been using the Belkin F5U103 USB to com port converter here for some time
now, but I have used it only for rig control, for that purpose it has
worked fine, but I just gave it try to see if it would work on FSK with
Writelog and MMTTY, it started to send about three or four letters before
it stopped sending. Don't know if there are other settings to try, but I
tried several. looks like it will not work, I did try using the same setup
in the AFSK mode, it looks to work ok, I did not try this on the air, just
checked the operation here in the shack. The computer is a Dell Inspiron
2500 laptop 800MHz running Win 98ME, and it does have one com port and the
USB port, using Writelog V10.30b with MMTTY

I also tried a Port Gear by Xircom, the model number looks to be, PGSDB9,
this unit did not work at all, would not even do rig control, this had cost
less, so it was the one I tried first, don't waste your time or money on
this one
