F12 used to be ALT-W back in version 9. It was my only contribution
to this fine product. In version 10, there was a call for a key that would
put the radio VFO back to the frequency it was on previously and therefore
that is what F-12 then became.

For instance, if you were running CQ on frequency A and you jumped to
frequency B to work a mult or whatever, hitting F-12 will put you right
back to frequency A. It's a nice feature. Those of use that were used to
using F-12 for ALT-W had to learn to use ALT-W and we did. ALT-W
is a natural action for me now.

Anyway, that's probably why you can't map F12 to ALT-W.
