[WriteLog] Pad for laptop mic input

Would someone steer me toward making a suitable pad for attenuating audio
input to a laptop's mic input?  (One of those with no LINE IN jack)  With
many "sound card programs", I can barely get the mixer slider off zero
before I have too much audio for the mic jack.

Strangely, it is more of a problem say with Digipan than with
MMTTY-WriteLog.  ?  Tnx
