Hi Shelby - Maybe you could accomplish the same thing with the "Search and
Replace" thing of a word processor? Sorry this post is wide bandwidth, but
hey, it's plain text, and I think makes a good point.

At first glance, it looks like you could do a search for <QTH:2> and Replace
with <STATE:2>. The DX entries do NOT have the <QTH:2>, so they wouldn't be
affected.

Here is an example of 2 WriteLog ADIF entries before and after edit with
Marek's WL2DX4WIN, and finally using Search and Replace:

BEFORE EDIT:

<QSO_DATE:8>20030927 <TIME_ON:6>001432 <FREQ:6>21.087 <BAND:3>15m <STX:1>4
<MODE:4>RTTY
    <CALL:6>KA7KUA
    <RST_SENT:3>599
    <RST_RCVD:3>599
    <CQZ:1>3
    <QTH:2>WA
    <M:1>3
    <A15:3>  7
    <P:1>1
    <COUNTRY:13>United States
    <PREF:1>K
    <r:1>1
<EOR>
<QSO_DATE:8>20030927 <TIME_ON:6>001529 <FREQ:6>21.087 <BAND:3>15m <STX:1>5
<MODE:4>RTTY
    <CALL:6>JM1XCW
    <RST_SENT:3>599
    <RST_RCVD:3>599
    <CQZ:2>25
    <M:1>2
    <A15:3>  9
    <P:1>3
    <COUNTRY:5>Japan
    <PREF:2>JA
    <r:1>1
<EOR>

AFTER WL2DX4WIN EDIT:

<QSO_DATE:8>20030927 <TIME_ON:6>001432 <COMMENT:14>Freq=21 087KHz
<BAND:3>15m <STX:1>4 <MODE:4>RTTY
    <CALL:6>KA7KUA
    <RST_SENT:3>599
    <RST_RCVD:3>599
    <CQZ:1>3
    <STATE:2>WA
    <M:1>3
    <A15:3>  7
    <P:1>1
    <COUNTRY:13>United States
    <PREF:1>K
    <r:1>1
<EOR>
<QSO_DATE:8>20030927 <TIME_ON:6>001529 <COMMENT:14>Freq=21 087KHz
<BAND:3>15m <STX:1>5 <MODE:4>RTTY
    <CALL:6>JM1XCW
    <RST_SENT:3>599
    <RST_RCVD:3>599
    <CQZ:2>25
    <M:1>2
    <A15:3>  9
    <P:1>3
    <COUNTRY:5>Japan
    <PREF:2>JA
    <r:1>1
<EOR>

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
And here are the original 2 entries after doing Search and Replace using
WORD:

<QSO_DATE:8>20030927 <TIME_ON:6>001432 <FREQ:6>21.087 <BAND:3>15m <STX:1>4
<MODE:4>RTTY
    <CALL:6>KA7KUA
    <RST_SENT:3>599
    <RST_RCVD:3>599
    <CQZ:1>3
    <STATE:2>WA
    <M:1>3
    <A15:3>  7
    <P:1>1
    <COUNTRY:13>United States
    <PREF:1>K
    <r:1>1
<EOR>
<QSO_DATE:8>20030927 <TIME_ON:6>001529 <FREQ:6>21.087 <BAND:3>15m <STX:1>5
<MODE:4>RTTY
    <CALL:6>JM1XCW
    <RST_SENT:3>599
    <RST_RCVD:3>599
    <CQZ:2>25
    <M:1>2
    <A15:3>  9
    <P:1>3
    <COUNTRY:5>Japan
    <PREF:2>JA
    <r:1>1
<EOR>

I think it is the same effect IN THIS CASE/CONTEST/LOG PROGRAM whether you
run Marek's program or do a simple Search and Replace with your word
processor. YMMV, and all ADIF's are not identical - check the WF1B version
carefully before making any assumptions! 73 - John, WA9ALS

P.S. If you use WORD, be sure to save it as a plain text file!
