Most especially since Writelog attempts to start (or restart) a regular
Windows kernel service (Net DDE) as well as other things.

You should ALWAYS reboot after an upgrade to WriteLog or any other program
that
uses InstallShield (including the MMTTY plug-in to WriteLog). This is a
known
issue.
