The only reason I purchased WriteLog was because it was supposed to be
Windows XP friendly. I have several DOS logging programs. Fact is, in order
to
use WriteLog with Windows XP for LPT Port Keying you must download, install,
and configure "Userport" or "Direct-io". This is fine if you have lots of
time on your hands.
Using Serial Port CW Keying with Windows XP machines often requires the
installation of a Serial card because most newer XP machines do not have
Serial
Ports built in. My Dell and Compaq XP machines do not have built-in Serial
Ports.
When I purchased WriteLog I expected it to be a complete working program
with a well documented manual. Neither were the case. Since I have little
spare time.. WriteLog isn't operational at this QTH.
