I have used the Belkin F5U103 for CW, PTT and RTTY. For rig control just
about any USB->Serial adapter will work well. The "Cables To Go" available
from Amazon are very compact and do work well for rig control, but will not
do RTTY (They do not have 5 bit 45.45 baud capability).
As for Parallel, unless you want to write your own driver, there are no
USB-Parallel adapters that will work.
There is also the MicroHam USB interfaces. I don't own one (yet) but I have
heard good things about them. See www.microham.com.

Subject: [WriteLog] Looking for USB adapter suggestion
I just upgraded from an old Dell laptop with serial and parallel ports to a
new Toshiba with only USB ports.
I'm looking for a suggestion on an adapter that will give me a serial port
(for rig interface) and a parallel port (for keying my IC-746PRO). I'm
looking at a ByteRunner VDS-1003 but I'm open for a better suggestion.
Whatever I get needs to be powered from the laptop as I use this for mobile
contesting.
