XP (and other versions of Windows) can be changed to show file
extensions.  Open File Explorer, click on tools then folder options then
the view tab and un-ckeck "Hide extensions for knows file types" then
spply and OK.  Now the file extensions should show.

Right click on the WriteLog.(ini) file, then left click on Properties,
and 
the complete name wall show.

Interesting, on my XP the extension does show.
