There is no "compatibility" issue with WriteLog and the two sound
codecs. There is one minor configuration difficulty in that WriteLog
expects all audio inputs to be on the same sound card (sound device).
This means that it is currently impossible to record the contest
during a SSB contest if you are using the WriteLog digital voice
keyer but this is no different than the typical laptop or inexpensive
soundcard with but a single microphone input.
Otherwise, it appears that MK2R+ works just fine for RTTY with two
instances of the MMTTY plug-in (for FSK), or with RTTYrite in AFSK
or PSK and there is no problem with SO2R CW.
Like any other SO2R box (except the discontinued W5XD MultiKeyer),
WriteLog does not support "split" audio and the WriteLog (stereo
soundboard) DVK at the same time. Fortunately, MK2R+ can be
configured for "split" audio or up to eight different headphone
audio switching configurations which can be selected at the touch
or a button.
MK2R+ is available from stock in the USA. MK2R will arrive in the
US this week. MK2R and MK2R+ are the most advanced, flexible, and
feature rich devices of their kind available today.
