Your questions piqued my curiosity so I looked this up here: 
http://reviews.pricegrabber.com/keyboards/m/11209327/  It's not getting 
stellar reviews by any of the users.

Personally I hate the laptop touchpads and even more the "little stick" on 
some of the that drive the cursor. I use a mouse but have used a trackball 
before. This thread reminded me to check to see what's available in new 
trackballs. I like it the best.
