After three days of this BS I'm at my wits end. Still no rig control under
WL! I've reset the IC-706MKII CI-V hex address back to its default of 4E
and entered the following line in the [Rigs] section.

Icom IC-706=0x4E

but it still makes no difference.

The interfaces to the Rigblaster and CT-17 via the USB to Serial adaptor are
apparently working. When I power up the net book computer the Rigblaster
Digital LED flashes and the radio TX keys up in sequence. When I start WL
the band map never shows communication with the radio and the map scale is
centered on zero. If I manually set the Band and Mode in WL the band map
shows the lower edge of the band selected, say 20M, regardless of the mode
selected CW or SSB.

Weird thing is I've discovered I can key the radio to send DVK audio
messages, but when I try CW all I get is random characters of code. The DVK
audio transmits regardless of the mode selected on the radio - under both CW
and SSB! It's like WL doesn't know I've created CW messages in its memory.
I have never before seen this behavior in WL in all my years of using it
(V10.71C). Under the Ports tab I have Comm3 set for CW and Comm4 set for
rig control of the IC-706. Poll is on, but whenever I set CommPTT to No for
both Comm3 and Comm4 the settings never make it back to the writelog.ini
file and eventually revert to Yes again - ???

Below are my writelog.ini file entries for the [Ports] and rigs] sections.
Does anyone see anything amiss that I am missing. At this point it looks
like my Field Day effort is in serious trouble!

[PORTS]
CWPTTCONTROL=2
CWPTTDELAY=15
dvktype=3
dvkport=4
cwtype=2
cwport=1
dvkstoploop=1
dvkechomic=1
Comm3Used=CW,POLL,24
Comm3RigManager={D0DE9422-0517-11D4-9D1B-00105AA43DDF}
Comm3XmitControl=ALWAYS
Comm4Used=USED,POLL,24
Comm4RigManager={D0DE9422-0517-11D4-9D1B-00105AA43DDF}
Comm4XmitControl=ALWAYS

[RIGS]
Com3:=19200,n,8,2
Com4:=19200,n,8,2
IcomForceSplit=1
Icom IC-706=0x4e

Incidentally I've set the hex address to both 0x4e and 0x4E with no
difference.

Any help really, really appreciated!!!

73,
Gary AL9A
