Does that hiss go away when the RF gain is turned down? I've noticed a lot
of receivers that have that milkey sounding hiss when using the sharp IF
filters. I seem to remember it being developed in the IF stages and not
really audio related.
Some of the new receivers make use of the dsp to filter it out. Such was
the case with the FT-1000MP and the Omni-6.
