[Yaesu] FL7000 = Junk ???

I got an email from a VE3 friend of mine yesterday after I told him that I
just bought a FL7000.  He said they were junk and that 90% of the ones a
local ham shop sold ended up coming back for service.  

Can anyone confirm or deny this for me?  I havn't hooked mine up yet.
