Since when is the 1000D out of production. It's my understanding
that they are building them at this time, and that there have been
something on the order of 150 modifications since the last run
was ended.

I heard this information from a friend of mine who just bought 
a "new" 1000D from Burghhardts in Watertown SD and Jim Smith of
Burghardts is seldom wrong on this stuff.
