Reason not to:

Do not want to spend time diddling knobs!  Every noise reduction unit I 
have ever used required tweaking every time you came upon a new 
signal... I do not have the time to diddle knobs, I want a unit that is 
incorporated in the rig that recognizes the noise provides a solution 
and implements it ahead of stages which can be "jaded" with pumping and 
popping...

This has not happened yet but technology seems very close!
