I have an opportunity to purchase an FL-7000 from an estate sale for minimal
price. The gentleman that pre-tested the amplifier stated that it doesn't go
into STANDBY mode, but stays in the WAIT mode. I would imagine that it was put
on the bench, plugged in and that's about all the test consisted of. So,
without a dummy load/antenna attached, buttons pushed or other cables connected
is this an abnormal condition? He didn't have the Users Manual, so is selling
it as if broken. Does this condition sound familiar to anyone? Does it sound
like it needs repair? I'll need to fabricate a band data cable to connect my FT-
920 eventually once it's determined the operational status. Any ideas?
