Well, I have discovered that the amp tripping issue is not related to the
FT1000mkV.
I swapped Alpha 89 amps between the stations that I use on 10 and 20 and on
the mkV there are now no issues with the amp tripping.....however, with the
amp that was connected to the mkV and currently on another radio, the same
issues exist so I will have to call Alpha since this does appear to be an
amp problem.
Thanks for the input guys......still pretty crazy that the alc on the mkV
goes from practically no deflection to top-of/over the alc scale with just a
hairs movement of the mic gain.
