Depends on how 'new' the tube is. If it IS new, no need. If it's 'NOS', then it 
depends. It seems that generally ceramic tubes will just need the heater 
running (plus any forced air cooling for the seals) and if it's glass with a 
tantalum or zirconium coated plate, the plate needs to get red for a while.

Any equipment should have been burned in to some extent before delivery.
