I'm in the process of building a "Box Antenna" for 3525 KHz as described
in the January 1997 CQ. The plans call for two sets of radials. I have
approximately 1500 feet of #4 Aluminum wire which I'd like to use for
the radials. My questions are as follows:
1. I assume that the impedance of this heavy guage aluminum wire is
acceptable for a radial system on 80M. Is this a good assumption?
2. I need recommendations on how to permanently connect the aluminum
wire to the radial system.
Please reply to me directly. 73 and have a great New Year!
Bud AA3B
