Hi Bob/N9GG (et al)
I know I saw you having some minor technical troubles over on the N1MM
groups.io reflector.
I have used a smattering of different logging programs over the years.CT
back in the 80's/90's, then N6TR's TR Log (great program), SD by EI5DI,
N3FJP when we did some mid 1990's CY0AA/CY9AA expeditions. Worked for what
we needed. I've never used Writelog or Wintest.
When I got back into contesting in 2010 after a long hiatus, most had moved
to N1MM (first Classic, now N1MMLogger plus)
They all need a certain amount of computer/networking/radio interfacing
knowledge . I needed help from my local contest club, to get things perfect
then later some tiny bits of help here and there. None are plug and play.
Once I got it setup it continues to be solid. If minor issues creep in, I
can usually fix it, but if not, I go over to my local guys in MCC or the
N1MM reflector and properly ask for assistance.
My #1 best advice, is (and please accept this constructive criticism in the
spirit it is given, ie: I am trying to HELP you)
:When you need help, please be more explicit and give more information than
you gave on your latest N1MM issue. One or two liners (or 3 or 4 words in
some case) seldom will get you the correct help you needed. I believe that's
why Tom locked the thread. After 38 posts it should've been solvable.
Anyways, that aside.I doubt any of these loggers will be 100% problem free
and many have their strengths. Some are more complicated or do more things
than others.
I hope you find what you need and good luck in whatever you choose !
