I'm a long time and enthusiastic remote operator but it really is up to each
contest sponsor to choose rules -we don't need every contest to be the same.
You can influence the sponsors by contacting them directly - not by just
posting here!
An example: state QSO parties have been realizing they need to update their
rules: does the operator need to be in state to be called an in-state entry and
mult, or just the station, or both?
A few years ago one of the states updated their rules to say both op and
station had to be in-state and enough remote enthusiasts contacted the sponsor
and they changed the rule.
The next state QSO party and VHF contest leap: the overhyped autonomous car and
the remotely piloted mobile county/rover grid traversing vehicle...
