Thanks for the email Ron, but I think you missed my point. Yukon is a
distinct Territory and region within Canada--and also a section. If
California had created a new section bringing the number up to what,
10?...there would be another section added.

But I could honestly care less about this from a contest perspective; what
is concerning is the fact that despite the agreed upon terms with respect
to how RAC and ARRL govern themselves in every other part of section
interactions and activities, they chose to stray from their own rules. The
ARRL can make whatever kind of contest they want at the end of the day, but
perhaps be a little more transparent about it. Now, having them tell us as
to what we should say or do is a bit of a stretch if you ask me. Our
section is Yukon--not TER. I am now making up stories about a ficticious
section that I am not a part of to fit the contest mould. If thats the new
game, just lay it out and be done with it. In the big scheme of things, as
I chuckle to myself, honestly, none of this matters...but it is irrtating.
The entire process has simply been a bit disingenuous and honestly,
disappointing. It makes no difference to us from a contest perspective; if
anything, it makes it more of a challenge for us to find someone in NWT or
Nunavut. The radio would be just as busy on this end by any other name. I
think, perhaps, all of this is viewed somewhat differently these days as
well given some of the things being said in areas outside of Canada, but I
won't dwell on that here. It certainly is no reflection on the members on
this site or the many good friends I have made over the years in radio.

cheers

scott
