  I found your photo of the swr/field strength meter interesting.  I have one 
very simular to yours.  it looks like you are connected to the top port where 
there use to be a small screw in antenna for field strength.  I can not see 
clearly how you have the wires connected .  Is one connected to the screw port 
and the other to ground on the top of your meter?

I can testify to Ian's comments. I still have a lot to learn
about WHY I have so many common mode problems, but it sure is
helpful to SEE where the biggest problems actually are. I built
this ridiculously simple sniffer in about 2 minutes from parts
on hand. Perhaps your junk box already has what you need.
