I have 3 GE model FLE26HT3/2/SW outside the garages and I have been tracking
the hours to failure.
So far....one of them has failed....it didn't get dim or act weird....it
just quit at 7300 hours.
The rated life is 8000 hours so it almost made it.
The other 2 are still going strong and have gone past the 800 hour point by
now.
The replacement CFL is the same part number but is a bit brighter than the 2
original units.
I don't have any noise on any band from these CFL....that's why they are
still out there.
The CFL I am using is at the bottom of page 5-10.
Here is the data sheet so everyone can know what you are buying before you
get the store.
I don't buy any house brands.

Jim and All,

Just an FYI note on CFL and LED lamp life: "Consumer Reports" is in the
midst of accelerated life testing on a large number of CFL and LED lamps.
They are about 2 years into the mission and still running. LEDs are looking
good, but still pricey. Some CFLs are now lasting >10k hours, but many are
not. They do cycle all bulbs on/off, but they note that some CFLs are
specified as not less than 15 minutes on time when used. Alas, they are not
tracking any RFI issues.
