No doubt you asked if they'd pay for the installation fee and your monthly
bill for a dedicated data only line to their box?  Whoops!  They can't
justify THAT to the FCC and ICC!

How about this, then, when I helped a friend set up their system a couple
years ago?

"Is the phone line connected?"  "Yes".

As if they could possibly know...

Regardless, in both cases, no phone line in that room, no line connected, no
way to ever know, no fees ever incurred.  Next time, lie to them, unless of
course, you're above lying to shysters!

It's still a con job to scam you out of an extra few bucks, by the way.  You
don't have a phone necessarily, nor are you required to ever get or use one,
you aren't interested in pay-per-view, you don't need caller ID on your TV
screen, so some clown says they'll charge you an extra $10 a month (a dollar
in my case) to watch TV using a receive only box?  And you believed it???

What do you get for the extra $10?

How many times have they called your house to speak to your TV box?

I'd call them and ask for a monthly list of services provided for that extra 
fee, or a refund.
