I've built up a ferrite rod antenna (~ 7.5" x 0.5" ) and tuned it with a
365pf variable with a vernier dial. It resonates from about 800Khz to
3000Khz so nicely covers my current problem area. Easy to tune by peaking
on noise.
I've put a 2 turn coupling loop on it and fed it to my VR500 and strapped
it all to a piece of 1x2 poplar. I walked around with it last night and
found it had nice deep nulls.
I'll start a serious search tonight with someone driving the car while I
operate the antenna.
I'll report any findings.
