"Great" compared to what? Many years ago, zip cord was measured by ARRL 
Labs and found to be fairly lossy -- 3.9 dB/100 ft at 14 MHz -- with Zo 
of 105 ohms. A low dipole (1/4 wave high or less) typically has 
feedpoint Z of 50 ohms or lower, so it's not a very good match.
