Interestingly enough, a two S-Unit increase, and drop is about what I
see during an outage as well... I have a Honda eu3000is, which is seems
as quiet in the RF spectrum as it is in the audio spectrum...
It seems this sort of data, (noise floor drop during outages), should be
kept and used someplace, but for the life of me, I know not where...

Subject: [RFI] Generac 16KW Standby Generator - NO RFI!
Hi all, I had a Generac 16KW generator installed early this year. The
generator is specced to power my entire house load. Luckily/unluckily
haven't had a chance to really try it out. Until today.
Today, we've been without utility power for a few hours, and I noticed
absolutely no interference to my HF radios! I didn't check VHF
unfortunately, I wanted to take advantage of the lack of neighborhood HF
noise!
Utility power literally just came back on, and I could see the noise floor
jump 2 s units. I'm sure a lot of this is installation, radio, and antenna
specific, but in my case, I'm pleased.
Happy to answer questions about the unit, but my verdict is, in my
installation, it seems quiet.
