AMEN to that.
WD-40 is water a displacement chemical . It is not a lubricant!
I've repaired several radios where parts had been lubricated with WD-40. I
found that parts {plural} became a part {singular}. Notably plastic and
others of like material will be attacked by WD-40. That part which was once
solid may become a sticky, gooey, and semi flexible material.

Use care when spraying WD-40! When it dries, it makes a fine glue. I
have made several dollars cleaning Browning semi-auto shotguns the owner
had sprayed full of WD-40 and stuck the action.
