My 238B showed the same issue. Turned out that the shaft coupler was loose causing the gross mis-alignment to the actual switch. Was expecting to have to remove
the entire switch assembly, but turned out to be an easy fix.

Now if I could determine why in the bypass position it exhibits a higher VSWR on 10 meters, project for another time.

Good luck.

I am in need for some parts for the TenTec 238
(plain 238, and NOT 238 B) antenna tuner.
Hopefully some of you might be able to help.

Here is what I need:
Top cover (U shaped, covering top and both sides)
Plexiglass dial cover, goes along the top front,
with the dial markings on it.
Plastic end plates for the front corners
Knobs
Toroid balun

Or, does anyone have a parts unit that might have
these parts on it? All of my internal parts appear
to be fine (except balun). Maybe your internal
parts are dead.

Please let me know what you might have available.

Thanks.

My 238C antenna switch has seemingly gone bonkers.

I connect one coax(antenna) to any of the four antenna connectors on
the rear of the unit
and when I switch from antenna 1 to 2 to 3 to 4, I get the same output
to the same single antenna when switched to any of the four positions.

Getting to the switch is a bear so I havent tried to see why the
switch is behaving as if all four positions are connected together.

Anyone had this problem before?

Are you saying that, no matter what ;position the switch is in, that you can connect a single antenna to any one of ten four outposts and get signal through, or are you saying that, regardless of switch position, your signal only goes to one of the outputs?

It?s an important difference.

If the latter is the case, look at the coupler between the front panel knob and the switch itself to ensure that the switch?s own main shaft turns when the panel knob is turned.
