Awesome! Will be keeping fingers crossed that the VK9 boys will try
again tomorrow!
The noise here is still bad (by W6 standards), but down from previous
nights. DF2PY was audible on the "Home Depot Speical" here in
California for nearly an hour -- the first copyable EU this year for
me -- but much of this time was consumed with remarks by stations from
the USA eastern time zone such as "FB Wolf on your new antenna", "many
stations calling you", "yes, it's quite noisy here" and "because you
are 20-30 dB over the noise this evening I will go ahead and extend
our QSO with three or four unnecessary overs."
F6FGZ and G3RZP were heard here clearly, but only for one or two
overs. I heard that IV3PRK and G3PQA were on the band, but I never
found them. EM1HO and XE2NNZ were also on the band here in the
evening time.
This morning the band was totally punk. I heard VK6HD receive reports
from a few stations this morning, but he was way down from normal. I
didn't hear much of "CZM dahhhhhhh" (I think) on 1828, nor a peep from
"94W313" which was pounding in for hours on 1912.1 earlier this week.
Still vigilantly hoping UN5J will turn up again on 1830 around 1345Z
or so. :-)
